Suju fans hate on Henry and Zhou Mi

Super Junior was the very first group that pulled me into k-pop, and though they aren’t my favorite these days, they will always hold a special place in my heart. For me, Super Junior is not just the original 13 members, but also the SJ-M members Henry and Zhou Mi. It breaks my heart that at the Super Show recently held by Super Junior, fans were screaming for Hangeng (understandable that they miss him, I do too, but not the way they did) and screaming against both the SJ-M members. Why is hate the first response? I do not understand how there is so much hate out there and so little love. Anyways, here is an account taken from 3rd Chapter.

“It can be said that Super Junior’s start to the Year of the Tiger has not been smooth. Han Geng’s termination of his contract has overshadowed the entire Super Show 2 Asian tour in a layer of haze. On the day of the concert it continued to rain heavily, the weather was gloomy and cold, it seemed that there was regret that this would not be a very happy encore. There was clearly a disparity between the more than 50% attendance rate compared to the full capacity of last year. During the course of the performance, every time during the parts that originally should have been performed by Han Geng and were substituted for by SJ-M member Zhou Mi, there were fans that repeated continuously such phrases as “give me back Han Geng”, “Han Geng” and “Zhou Mi, get lost”, which penetrated throughout the whole audience. The expressions of SJ’s other Korean members were all awkward and making this last stop of the Asian tour finish with endless ellipsis.

At the start of the concert, the audience at the venue were all extremely excited, they started to wave the light signs in their hands. The whole sequence of the performance had considerable arrangements and the images of all the SJ members were freed, besides wearing wigs to perform as girls to imitate SNSD’s “Gee”, Heechul, Donghae, Shindong, Ryeowook and Eunhyuk also formed a male version of f(x) to dance the well known song “Chu~”. A super new version of “Sorry, Sorry” was also prepared, during the fast rhythm of the melody small parts from many songs were alternated, which was matched with brilliant dance steps. But what was noteworthy was that during the big screen production, the camera shots of Han Geng had been cut very cleanly and they did not hesitate to re-shoot the MV part.

When SJ-M’s Zhou Mi and Henry came out to perform “dao le ming tian”, the whole audience all shouted “Han Geng! Han Geng!”, after singing three songs consecutively the whole venue was nearly turned upside down, but when the other SJ members came out, the whole audience quietly listened to them sing. Finally when these two people came out at the end of the concert, shouts of “Han Geng! Han Geng!” started again, suddenly Siwon took the microphone and very solemnly yelled “everyone be quiet!” In an instant, it became quiet. This really surprised the reporters as to the power of control idols have over fans. Then Heechul who was on one side also echoed Siwon and yelled at the fans in Chinese and English, “I say Zhou, U say Mi.” Suddenly it seemed that these SJ fans were under a spell, earlier they were still a group that were passionately and excitedly jeering Zhou Mi and others, but in a moment they were yelling “Mi, Mi!” including when it was Henry’s turn, the other SJ-M member, who also yelled. This made Zhou Mi cry violently, he had performed for the first time with his seniors, but it is not known if it was from happiness or if it was from relief that the concert had finally ended.

Cutie member Henry also has released a response to the situation in which he expressed his sadness over this event as well as the hate that he and Zhou Mi have received over the years from 13 only type fans.

Henry Baidu Reply to Only13 Haters

Dear all,I really don’t understand. Aren’t people supposed to care and to protect what is their own? We speak the same language, eat the same food, have the same customs and yet we are not welcome in our own country to perform. All we want to do is to express ourselves through performing and music but how can we do this when there is so much hate? Don’t you find it funny how we can perform in every other country without any problems except for our own home country? I I left my friends, family, and everything else back in Canada to pursue a dream all alone here in Asia. As a result, I have been hated ever since I first debuted in Korea in 2006 from fans. What more do you want from me? How do you think I or we both feel every time we go up on stage knowing people will be screaming for us to get off? I’ve tried to laugh it off for far too long now and can’t hold it in anymore. Just to let you know…we have feelings too. I will continue to work my hardest to bring the best performances for you all but today I’d just like to let you know a little about how I feel in the inside. I’m almost all out of breathe.
However…

The lesson I wish that you would take from this is that love should be the most important thing. These idols are people too, just like you and me. Yes, they are famous and extremely talented, but they are PEOPLE. People with emotions. How do we have the right to tear them down like this. We should support these talented performers in fulfilling their dreams.

Love people. Show some love.
